2017 Nissan TITAN XD PRO-4X Project Basecamp Unveiled

Nissan recently debuted the specially modified 2017 Nissan TITAN XD PRO-4X 4X4 called “Project Basecamp,” which features a unique design specifically equipped for self-sustaining exploration of backcountry. Capable of tackling any climate or terrain with ease, the truck created quite the buzz amongst the crowd when it went on display at the Overland Expo 2017 WEST in Flagstaff, Arizona on May 12-14.

The TITAN XD PRO-4X Project Basecamp features more than 60 aftermarket parts and accessories from top manufacturers in the overlanding industry, creating an essentially self-contained, self-sustaining "basecamp" for exploring the backcountry. Elements of the Project Basecamp TITAN include a commercial truck ladder frame, a 5.0-liter V6 turbocharger, 17-inch beadlock aluminum-alloy wheels and a 3-inch lift kit that provides added tire clearance.

"With the fully equipped Project Basecamp, it's hard to decide whether getting there or staying there is more fun," added Diaz. "We can't wait to hear the reaction of participants at the Overland Expo."

The truck is slated to make additional appearances throughout the 2017 spring and summer months at outdoor exhibitions and outdoor adventure shows.
