Specs at a Glance
The Nissan Pathfinder will be fully redesigned in 2022. This year's Pathfinder gets a fresh exterior image that has a bolder and more rugged design. The drivetrain and mechanical system are updated as well for a smoother and more direct response when you step on the accelerator. The Nissan Pathfinder has a new terrain select mode this year that has seven different positions. Towing power is 6,000 pounds with the Pathfinder, and it can be configured with a towing package as well. The SV can get captain's chairs this year, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen is available.
Performance
The Nissan Pathfinder S and SV use the same engine in the 2022 model year. Both are powered by a direct-injection V6 engine with a 3.5L displacement. The Nissan S and SV have a 9-speed automatic transmission. Intelligent all-wheel drive is optional for either trim level, and you can confidently tow trailers, boats, ATVs, and similar equipment with the Pathfinder's strong 6,000-pound towing capacity, which is nearly double that of most competitors. The Nissan Pathfinder now has a 7-terrain select mode system that allows the SUV to adapt to different types of terrain that you wish to drive on.
Appearance
The Nissan Pathfinder S and SV trims have similar appearance features, while the SV has a few more standard features and optional add-on items. The S and SV have automatic headlights with LED lamps in the front and LED tail lights in the back. Both Pathfinder trims have alloy wheels with a dark finish. Black roof rails are added to the SV, which sets it apart from the S. The SV also has heated exterior mirrors for safe and convenient driving in the cold. A tow hitch receiver with a seven-pin wiring harness can be added to the SV trim, and it also has the option for a power liftgate. Special glass designed to reduce glare from the sun is standard with both the S and the SV trim levels.
Features
A long list of features is included with the S and the SV. The S and SV both have an eight-inch touchscreen with NissanConnect communication. However, the SV can be further configured with satellite radio and a trial for a Premium package. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard. The SV also has WiFi, and it has the option to get captain's chairs and a seating capacity for seven rather than the bench-style seating arrangement that comes with the S. Heated front seats are another bonus with the SV.
