Experience the vibrant sounds and dynamic choreography of Bandan Koro for free this month at the Mesquite Main Library! The Dallas-based African drum and dance troupe will be putting on a special performance at the library on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015, and it's a great event for the entire family.
The Bandan Koro African Drum and Dance ensemble offers a taste of traditional African culture and spirit. The group was formed back in 2009 and has quickly become one of the Dallas metro area's favorite dance troops. Along with putting on great performances all around north Texas, Bandan Koro also invites the public to come join in the dance explosion at their studio, where young, old, experienced, intermediate and first-time dancers are invited to come learn the lyrical and energetic movements of African dance. On occasion, the studio even has master teachers from countries like Brazil, Haiti, Guinea and Senegal come in to teach classes. Drum instruction is available as well.
If you want to see the ensemble perform for free at a location near you, don't miss out on this month's free show at the Mesquite Main Library located on 300 W. Grubb Dr. The performance is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
