Take a day trip to Waxahachie for the 2015 Scarborough Renaissance Festival! It’s a blast from the past, transporting all who enter back to the times of the Middle Ages, when Kings ruled and men jousted for glory. Go as a fairy, princess, knight or jester and prepare for 16th century fun!
With 21 stages of entertainment, there’s always a performance going on and a variety of shows means you’ll find something that each member of the family will enjoy. From jousting, swashbuckling and acrobatics to Scottish bagpipes, fire juggling and more, you’ll find a wide array of shows to watch.
When you’re not enjoying a stage performance, you can view numerous artisan demonstrations. Throughout the festival village, there will be candle makers, glass blowers, metal workers, stone carvers, sword makers and other artisans hard at work on their crafts, so stop by to take a look.
Several kids’ activities will also be featured at the Festival, including a petting zoo, face painting, human chess matches, the amazing maze, games and much more. We’re sure plenty of adults will have fun participating in these activities, too!
One thing’s for sure, everyone young and old will enjoy the festival’s authentic fare. Giant turkey legs, Scottish eggs, traditional pastries and other delicacies will be available for all to feast on. In addition, the village marketplace returns with over 200 shops featuring jewelry, clothing, fine art, pottery, toys and other items for you to purchase.
