The Nissan Kicks Concept, which originally debuted at the 2014 Sao Paulo Motor Show, is now scheduled to be turned into a production model that will arrive as a brand-new crossover in global markets in the coming future. The CUV will initially land in Latin America before making its way to other markets and there’s a chance it could eventually wind up in North America.

"Nissan invented the first crossover in 2003, with the Murano," said Carlos Ghosn, president and chief executive officer of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. "Since then, we've established our global crossover leadership with vehicles like JUKE, Qashqai and X-Trail – which have been great successes. The Kicks will bring Nissan´s unique Crossover expertise to more regions."

Likely to sit right between the Nissan Juke and Nissan Rogue when it comes to size, the incoming Kicks model will serve buyers in the market for a midsize compact SUV. If it’s anything like the concept model that was launched in 2014, it could end up 169.3 inches long, 70.8 inches wide and 63 inches tall. It could also have a wheelbase of 103.1 inches, which is slightly longer than the Nissan Juke.

Scheduled to be built at Nissan’s Resende Industrial Complex in Rio de Janeiro State, the crossover is slated to begin arriving at dealerships in Latin America later this year. We are anticipating its release and hope to see the crossover appear in North America in the future.
