The 59th Annual Mesquite Rodeo Parade is happening on Saturday, April 2, 2016, right in the heart of downtown Mesquite. Slated to feature an assortment of incredible floats and live entertainment, this year’s parade is expected to be one of the best to date, and we encourage everyone to come out and support the longstanding Mesquite tradition.
“Honoring Everyday Heroes,” the theme for the 2016 Mesquite Rodeo Parade, is a message we stand behind and we can’t wait to find out how parade participants will bring the slogan to life during this year’s event. Matthew Hernandez, 2015 Special Olympics World Games Silver Medalist in the 500 Meter Kayak Race, will serve as the grand marshal of the parade and we can’t express enough how excited the Mesquite community is to have him joining the festivities. Aside from Hernandez, churches, community groups, civic clubs, schools and sports teams will all come together to participate in the 2016 parade and represent the Mesquite community.
If you’d like to watch the event, be sure to arrive before 10 a.m. and follow the parade from Belt Line at Newsom to Galloway Avenue New Market. You can view a full map of the parade route down below or visit the event website for additional information.
