2017 Annual PumpkinFest in Mesquite, Texas

Halloween is right around the corner, which means it’s time to block off your calendars to attend PumpkinFest, located at 403 South Galloway Avenue at City Lake Park, on Saturday, October 21, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Now in its 17th year, the annual event is the perfect way to celebrate the holiday with family, friends and even your furry loved ones. No matter if you’re 3 or 93, the absolutely free festival has something for everyone to enjoy.

There’s nothing quite like decorating a pumpkin for Halloween, which is why there will once again be a decorating pumpkin contest, where attendees put their own spooky stamp on a jack-o’-lantern. Other activities include carnival rides, face painting, a petting zoo, pony rides and bounce houses for your little ones to burn off any excess energy.

On top of the above attractions, two costume contests will also get underway, including one for the kiddos starting at 4 p.m. sharp and another for dogs at 5 p.m., so be sure to dress them in their best ghost, goblin and witch wardrobes. Contest registration is the day of the event, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Make the most of this exciting season by attending PumpkinFest. Happy Halloween!
