Most people have, at one time or another, faced a flat tire and needed to change the spare tire on their car. Changing the spare tire on your Nissan should be similar to changing the tire on other vehicles from a different make or model.

Usually, a small spare tire is located under the trunk floor, and the Nissan Versa, for example, comes equipped with all the tools you'll need to complete the procedure of replacing your flat tire with the spare tire.

The first step you'll need to take is to pull over to a safe and flat location away from traffic. You do not want to be in the midst of driving cars, which can be rather dangerous. You'll want to pull up on your parking brake.

Then, get out of your car and lift the trunk floor to remove the spare tire. You may need to unscrew a bolt that holds the spare tire to the trunk floor. Don't forget to bring the scissor jack and lug nut wrench from the same location.

To bring your Nissan up, use the scissor jack to raise it. Take a look at your car behind the front and back tires. There are metal notches to identify the lift point. Put the scissor jack underneath this region so that it can lift the car until the tire is off the ground. You'll need to push the handle of the jack multiple times until your automobile is at least two inches off of the ground.

Now all you need to do is to remove the lug nuts using the lug nut wrench and then remove the flat tire. Loosen the lug nuts by rotating them to the left side. When you install the spare tire, be sure first to tighten the lug nuts by hand. This will help you ensure that the spare tire is positioned securely on the axle.

Now you can lower your Nissan vehicle using the scissor jack. At this point, be sure to use the lug nut wrench to secure the lug nuts in a criss-cross pattern. Lastly, you should re-position the hubcap.
