What's New for the 2019 Nissan Altima?

The 2019 Nissan Altima will offer, for the first time, all-wheel drive, a more powerful engine and a dual-pinion electric power-steering system, which gives the sedan a quieter ride. To add responsiveness, the 2019 Nissan Altima now has monotube rear shocks and suspension reinforcements. The exterior is completely new from the front grille to the rear integrated spoiler. In the interior, every 2019 Nissan Altima now has an 8.0 inch touchscreen. Zero-gravity seats, which premiered in the Nissan Maxima, are now standard. The 2019 Nissan Altima also features a number of new and available safety features.

What's Under the Hood of the 2019 Altima?

2019 Nissan Altima RearThe 2019 Nissan Altima comes standard with the world's first VC-turbo engine. This variable compression turbo engine is able to adjust the compression ratio in order to maximize the engine's output or the miles per gallon. This standard inline-4 turbo engine is designed to generate 188 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque versus just 179 horsepower for the 2018 Nissan Altima. The new standard engine is connected to a continuously variable transmission (CVT), and is available with paddle shift controls. There is an available turbocharged inline-4 engine that puts out 248 horsepower and 273 foot-pounds of torque.

An Innovative Array of Safety Features

2019 Nissan Altima Safety CameraThe 2019 Nissan Altima comes with standard forward-collision warning (FCW) and automatic emergency braking (AEB). On higher trim levels, lane-departure warning, pedestrian-detection, rear cross-traffic warning, and rear automatic emergency braking are either standard or available as an option. On the SV, SL, and Platinum trims, the 2019 Nissan Altima will offer Nissan's ProPilot Assist driver assist system. This driver assist system will be able to manage the vehicle's speed according to traffic and steer the car in highway driving conditions.
