What's New For The 2019 Nissan NV?

Not a whole lot is new on the 2019 NV. The NV has been in its first generation since 2012 and seen a few changes here and there. But, this model year, the only alterations to be found are the standardization of the voice controls and 7-inch touchscreen display panel. Expect for everything else to carry over from the 2018 line-up.

The Nissan NV Has Many Features Across Two Trims

The 2019 Nissan NV comes as either a Cargo or Passenger van, and each of those styles has three different trim levels that you can choose from: the S, SV, and SL. Also, there are two engine options to choose from: a 4.0-L V6 and a 5.6-L V8, which comes standard on the SL and is available as an option on the S and SV. The 4.0-L engine is matched up with a 5-speed automatic transmission and comes with rear-wheel drive. The 5.6-L engine is rounded out with a 7-speed automatic transmission. The base S trim comes with air conditioning for the front and rear seats, the new standard 7-inch touchscreen display, Bluetooth connectivity, and a 2-speaker sound system with a CD player. If you upgrade to the SV, you get more chrome trim, four 12-volt power outlets inside of the cabin, a 6-speaker sound system, and audio controls that are mounted onto the steering wheel for easy access. The line-topping SL adds on front parking sensors, heated front seats, chic leather to all of the seats, satellite radio, an automatically dimming rear-view mirror, and a built-in navigation system. The Navigation Package can be added to the S and SV, equipping them with the same navigational features as the ones that come standard on the SL. Just take note that this is the only package that is available for this line-up.

What's Under the Hood of the 2019 NV?

2019 Nissan NV Exterior FrontThe 2019 Nissan NV's base 4.0-L V6 engine is able to produce 261 hp and 281 lb-ft of torque, which is adequate for a vehicle of this size. However, the 5.6-L V8 engine provides 375 hp and 387 lb-ft of torque, which is definitely a noticeable upgrade. Even when you load the Cargo van down with a hefty payload or pack the Passenger van with people, this is still enough power to give the NV a smooth and enjoyable ride quality.

Nissan NV Safety In the Forefront

2019 Nissan NV Exterior RearAs you can imagine, safety is paramount on the 2019 Nissan NV. Standard safety features include the Nissan Connect system with mobile apps that help by automatically providing crash notifications and getting roadside assistance when needed. The availability of front and rear parking sensors is an added bonus since these pieces of sonar-based technology let you know if any object is too close to the vehicle. The rear-view camera builds onto that sense of security since it allows you to see everything that is behind the NV.
