What's New for the 2022 Nissan Versa

Nissan gave this subcompact sedan a complete makeover for the 2020 model year when it introduced the third generation of this inexpensive, value-driven car. The manufacturer indicates that they have made no new changes to this comfortable and spacious sedan packaged with many standard features.

2022 Versa Trims and Features

The Nissan Versa is a sharp-looking sedan with three trims, the S, SV, and SR. The base S trim has a comfortable and roomy interior with a standard seven-inch infotainment system. Voice command capability, Bluetooth, and three USB ports are also standard, plus 15-inch steel wheels, power windows and locks, and a four-speaker stereo system. The SV trim adds keyless entry/start, heated side mirrors, 16-inch alloy wheels, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and satellite radio. The SR trim gives buyers a six-speaker audio system, premium cloth seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and LED headlights.

2022 Nissan Versa Horsepower

A 122 hp 1.6-liter non-turbo inline four-cylinder engine with 114 lb-ft of torque powers all Versa models. Each also comes with a front-wheel drive. The S trim comes equipped with a five-speed manual transmission, but buyers can opt for a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), standard on the SV and SR trims. When equipped with the CVT, the Versa has an EPA-estimated 32 city/40 highway/35 combined fuel economy.

Nissan Versa Safety

The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) has given the Versa an overall five-star safety rating, while the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave it a rating of good in crashworthiness, moderate overlap front crash, and side crash tests. Standard safety features include lane departure warning and front and rear automatic emergency braking. A blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic warning are standard on the SV and SR trims.
