This Saturday through Monday are the final days of the Scarborough Renaissance Festival. On May 24-26, 2014, get dressed in your favorite 16th century garb or go as you are to one of the most interesting and entertaining annual events in north Texas. The festival includes a variety of shows, artisan demonstrations, kid activities, a bustling village marketplace and exciting performances like full-combat jousting competitions!

For your chance to step back in time, schedule a day trip to Waxahachie, TX this weekend or Memorial Day, and don't miss out because the festival won't return until next year!

Bring the Kids
Enjoy family-friendly fun set in the era of King Henry VIII. Children will love the amazing maze, petting zoo, face painting, grand parades and renaissance rides. It's also one of the only events of the year in which little girls can be princesses or fairies for the day, while boys will get a kick out of dressing as young knights. Adults are also welcome to join in the costuming fun, too, of course!

Activities for All
The Scarborough Renaissance Festival offers entertainment of all kinds, including acrobatics, sword fighting, comedy shows, turtle races, bagpipers and much more. Plus, you can watch "village" artisans as they perform crafts ranging from glassblowing and blacksmithing to sword and candle making. Several unique products are also for sale at the marketplace, where you'll find unique jewelry, clothing, pottery, metalwork, leather goods and fine art.

Food Fit for a King
Throughout the festival, there are several places to grab food and drinks. With meal options like giant turkey legs, handmade pasta and delectable pastries, you'll have a grand feast. There are also several unique beer and wine selections.

Memorial Day Parade
The 34th season of the Scarborough Renaissance Festival will end on Memorial Day, and to commemorate the close of the event, there will be a special Veterans Parade on the 26th at 1 p.m. in place of the usual Grand Parade. Veterans are invited to come march! Contact the festival for details.
