I’ve dabbled in origami, but this is far beyond anything I’ve ever attempted. My little paper cranes and star boxes were a piece of cake compared to this insane full-size Origami Juke.
In the video below you’ll get to see how it was brought to life by British artist Owen Gildersleeve and his team of assistants. It took them 200 hours to put the model together and the final result is more than impressive. Using over 2,000 pieces of paper, Gildersleeve and his team designed a life-like and life-sized version of the Nissan Juke that celebrates the SUV’s fifth birthday. They captured all of the essential characteristics of the current 2016 Nissan Juke too, including its eye-catching grille, prominent fenders and sleek lights. The model was even designed to closely match the exact dimensions of the latest model of the SUV.
Gildersleeve had this to say about the work, "This was a great project to work on – hard work but very rewarding. As a celebration piece, it draws on so many influences, such as the origami focus inspired by Nissan's Japanese roots. Using so many individual pieces of paper to create the overall structure also represents the thousands of people who helped bring the Nissan Juke into reality in 2011."
