What's New For the 2019 Nissan GT-R
The Nissan GT-R is a sports coupe that comes from a strong racing heritage at Nissan. After ending their production of the Nissan Skyline GT-R in 2002, Nissan introduced the Nissan GT-R to the automotive market in 2007. While the Skyline continues its legacy in the luxury-sports car market, the Nissan GT-R is now the vehicle that Nissan has chosen to compete as a pure sports car.
There are four different trims that Nissan offers for the 2019 Nissan GT-R. Nissan has bolstered and upgraded the technology that is included with the GT-R. Each 2019 GT-R is offered with full-LED headlights, Nissan's NissanConnect infotainment suite, and Apple CarPlay for iDevice connectivity. All four of the 2019 GT-R trims also light the road with standard daytime running lights (DRLs).

2019 GT-R Trims & Features
The first of the four trims available for the 2019 Nissan GT-R is the Nissan GT-R Pure. The GT-R Pure is offered with a combination of seven exterior colors and six interior colors. Drivers can access the NissanConnect infotainment suite through a touchscreen display or through voice-activated controls.
Seven exterior colors and 6 interior colors are offered for the Nissan GT-R Premium, the trim level above the GT-R Pure. A rear spoiler and black grille are included on the GT-R Premium for additional sportiness. As with the GT-R Pure audio controls for the GT-R Premium are mounted onto the steering wheel. The GT-R Premium has an upgraded sound system that features 11 premium speakers.
The Nissan GT-R Track Edition is a more track-oriented version of the 2019 GT-R. The model features two spoilers in addition to rocker panel extensions. The mirrors of the GT-R Track Edition are heated and controllable by a power remote. The infotainment system of the GT-R Premium includes speed-sensitive volume, SiriusXM Satellite radio, and an 11-speaker Bose sound system.
The 2019 Nissan GT-R NISMO is the leader of all of the GT-R trims. The design of the GT-R Nismo is more track-focused than the GT-R Track Edition and features seemingly minor details such as red NISMO branding and red accents. The GT-R NISMO includes an 11-speaker Bose sound system and first row LCD monitors.
2019 Nissan GT-R Horsepower
The 2019 Nissan GT-R is powered by Nissan's infamous VR38DETT engine. The VR38DETT is a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V6 engine that produces between 565 horsepower and 600 horsepower depending on the trim level that a customer chooses. The GT-R Pure, GT-R Premium, and GT-R Track Edition utilize the 565 horsepower variant of the VR38DETT while the GT-R NISMO has its engine power upgraded to 600 horsepower. The VR38DETT outputs a range of 467 pound-feet to 481 pound-feet of torque to the GT-R's all-wheel-drive system. The all-wheel-drive system can be adapted for road conditions based on Nissan pre-determined power split. Drivers have the option between a 0/100 rear-wheel bias split or a 50/50 split. Power of the VR38DETT is transferred from the engine to the wheels through a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Nissan GT-R Safety
The 2019 Nissan GT-R features various pieces of safety technology to aid drivers in handling its immense power. A rearview camera is a feature that comes standard on each of the 2019 GT-R trims. Stability and traction control systems keep the wheels of the GT-R planted onto the ground. The GT-R utilizes a full suite of airbags for the event of a collision.
